The Rivington and Adlington Brass Band has had a long history and was originally founded in 1872 by two citizens known as Robert Owen and John Miller. At the beginning of the bands formation, Rivington and Adlington Brass Band was granted a loan of Ł200 which went towards the
purchase of a full set of instruments. This was quickly paid off. The first band members were residents within Rivington. The band become very much a family affair with many members of the same family contributing to the band's success, even if they didn't play an instrument....Read more

The Rivington and Adlington Brass Band has players across the whole age range with a total of 20 brass band members from various different backgrounds and professions including an accountant, banker, graphic designers and students. We enjoy our music and the great social life of the band.
